Our best shot at cooling the planet

A recent Guardian article explains how carbon sequestration in farm soils wil be a critically important tool in bringing down global CO2 levels in our atmosphere. You can read it here https://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2016/sep/10/soil-our-best-shot-at-cooling-the-planet-might-be-right-under-our-feet?CMP=share_btn_fb

At Farm Carbon Calculator we've been saying this for several years now and are more convinced than ever that this approach will be critical in reducing the chance of severe climate change. But it also has much greater benefits in terms of soil health and productivity on farms, so really is a win-win scenario.

This Calculator is the only one available that seriously assesses the impact of soil carbon on farm's carbon footprints, and we remain proud of that fact.

Over at FCCT we are doing more work all the time to promote the benefits of carbon sequestration in soils. You can look through our soil carbon webpages here http://farmcarbontoolkit.org.uk/soilcarbon and read about our recent Soil Farmer of the Year competition here http://farmcarbontoolkit.org.uk/soil-farmer.
